DETECTRA at ACR Convergence 2023: Poster Presentation on Digital Biomarkers for Arthritis Monitoring

At ACR Convergence 2023 in San Diego, DETECTRA participated in the poster session to present our early work on digital biomarkers in arthritis monitoring. This global event is one of the most prominent gatherings in rheumatology, where research and innovation shape the future of patient care.

Read our poster abstract, ‘Automated Detection and Quantification of Hand Joint Swelling in Rheumatoid Arthritis: Computer Vision, Deep Neural Network Models, and a Potential Biomarker for Disease Activity Monitoring’:

In this study, we explored various computer vision and deep learning techniques to automatically measure the dorsal finger folds and the diameter of proximal interphalangeal (PIP) finger joints in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The selected model was also designed to assess differences in PIP joint swelling between healthy individuals and those with rheumatoid arthritis.

Participating in ACR 2023 allowed us to showcase our approach to the scientific community, gather valuable insights, and confirm the relevance of digital health tools in rheumatology.
